Wikipédia:Žiadosť o príznak bota/Archív 2020 až 2022

z Wikipédie, slobodnej encyklopédie
  • CivilServantBot (príspevkyzáznamyblokovaniazáznam statusu botoprávnenia)
  • Operator: Epenn-cs
  • Automatic or Manually Assisted: Automatic
  • Programming Language (s): Python
  • Function Summary: Send talk page messages
  • Edit period (s) (eg Continuous, daily, one time run) ':' Continuous
  • Edit rate requested: We anticipate 30 messages will be sent a month.
  • Already has a bot flag (Y / N) ':' Y (In fr.wiki, de.wiki, pl.wiki, ar.wiki & fa.wiki. See sample of contributions at guc.toolforge.org)
  • Function Details: The bot will send talk page messages to newcomers 7 days after registration as part of the Impact Stats study.

@Epenn-cs: Tento bot už funguje na viacerých Wikipédiách: fr, de, ar, pl, fa, en. Po vykonaní 10 úprav môže byť povolený. The bot is functional on multiple wikis: fr, de, ar, pl, fa, en... After making the 10 edits, it should get the go-ahead.--Jetam2 (diskusia) 08:13, 24. november 2020 (UTC)[odpovedať]

Námietky? Are there any issues?--Jetam2 (diskusia) 13:48, 24. november 2020 (UTC)[odpovedať]
@Epenn-cs, Jetam2: 30 talk page posts per month is not that much, maybe we can keep it running unflagged, at least for some initial period of time to keep track of activities – unflagged posts will be visible in RC with default filtering. --Teslaton (diskusia) 14:28, 24. november 2020 (UTC)[odpovedať]
@Epenn-cs, Teslaton: I suppose we could but then why not just go ahead with the bot. It is part of an international study (of three Wikipedias), I really do not see any problem of having the bot run.--Jetam2 (diskusia) 18:11, 17. december 2020 (UTC)[odpovedať]
But that has nothing to do with a bot flag. Bot can be run with or without a flag, there are different API limits and RC flooding issues, but in case of edit frequency as low as mentioned, there should be no issues with running unflagged. Posts just will be visible in RC unhidden by default. It won't be first or last bot, running unflagged here (see BlahmaBot, ErfgoedBot or ListeriaBot). --Teslaton (diskusia) 18:20, 17. december 2020 (UTC)[odpovedať]
Okay, it seemed to me that a bot should have a bot flag. So, good. Let the bot run without a flag.--Jetam2 (diskusia) 19:15, 17. december 2020 (UTC)[odpovedať]

@Epenn-cs, Jetam2: Is there any way of filtering the editors targeted within this initiative according to the quality/value of their contributions (I can imagine number/rate of reverted edits or number of maintenance templates on their talk page as a very simple metrics, for example)? Because encouraging of purely experimental/vandal accounts to do more edits [1] seems to me as quite counterproductive. --Teslaton (diskusia) 20:35, 8. február 2021 (UTC)[odpovedať]

Hi, Teslaton, thanks for you note. I work with Jetam2 and thought I'd jump in to respond. We do use filters to remove any users who have flags in their abuse log, but I also saw that at least one user with a 'vandalism' warning received one of our bot's messages. We are now talking about how we can remedy that - and we'll get back to you soon. Thanks! --Juliakamin(cs) (diskusia) 11:45, 9. február 2021 (UTC)[odpovedať]
Hi Teslaton, just following up to say we have temporarily stopped the bot until we are able to resolve this issue. We will let you know when that happens. Thanks again for your input. --Juliakamin(cs) (diskusia) 14:15, 10. február 2021 (UTC)[odpovedať]

  • InternetArchiveBot (príspevkyzáznamyblokovaniazáznam statusu botoprávnenia)
  • Operator: Cyberpower678 and Harej
  • Automatic or Manually Assisted: Automatic
  • Programming Language(s): PHP
  • Function Summary: InternetArchiveBot identifies broken external links on Wikipedia article and either tags them or replaces them with archived versions. The bot also adds links to print books where appropriate.
  • Edit period(s) (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run): Continuous
  • Edit rate requested: 60 edits per minute
  • Already has a bot flag (Y/N): N
  • Function Details: InternetArchiveBot is a highly customizable bot used on over 50 wikis to improve references in Wikipedia articles, namely by fixing dead links and enhancing existing citations through links to books. The bot can be configured, including translations for bot messages, through the admin interface. Harej (diskusia) 18:05, 22. apríl 2021 (UTC)[odpovedať]

@Harej: Hi Harej. IAbot functionality would be nice to have on skiwki, generally, but I believe, there are steps needed to be done before even first testing edits would be possible: • archival url/date support in local citation templates ({{Citácia elektronického dokumentu}}, {{Citácia periodika}}, {{Citácia knihy}} at least, but there are also proxy templates in use, mapping calls copied from other languages markup, like {{Cite web}}); • bot config and messages localization (as mentioned). I think during initial phase, until we resolve and fine-tune these, bot may better stay unflagged, so that any edits are visible in RC using default filtering. --Teslaton (diskusia) 20:00, 22. apríl 2021 (UTC)[odpovedať]

Teslaton, I registered those citation templates in the bot, and the bot now recognizes them. Are there other templates that should be included? As for localizing, you can do that through the management interface. Harej (diskusia) 18:49, 9. september 2022 (UTC)[odpovedať]
Teslaton, for dates, can you describe the preferred date format, including names of months (particularly if they are a particular grammatical case)? Harej (diskusia) 20:17, 12. september 2022 (UTC)[odpovedať]
Teslaton, I made these test edits: [2] [3] [4]. I think this mostly looks correct, particularly the date formatting. The main thing that sticks out to me is that it is putting a {{webarchive}} template alongside {{Citácia elektronického dokumentu}}. This is because {{Citácia elektronického dokumentu}} does not have archive URL parameters. Let me know if this is fine or if you see any other issues. Harej (diskusia) 18:31, 10. október 2022 (UTC)[odpovedať]
@Harej: Thanks for the effort. I've added support for url archívu and dátum archivácie params into all three local ISO citation templates ({{Citácia elektronického dokumentu}}, {{Citácia periodika}}, {{Citácia knihy}}), see sample call here or some test cases here. Also the {{Cite web}} proxy template now maps archive-url and archive-date to the local params mentioned. Archival date is converted into ISO format (2007-09-21) and preferably should be passed as such already (instead of textual „21. október 2007“, „October 21, 2007“, „21. 9. 2007“, etc.). Can you please alter the bot setup/config so that it would fill these params instead of appending {{webarchive}} calls? --Teslaton (diskusia) 01:11, 11. október 2022 (UTC)[odpovedať]
Teslaton, how do these edits look? [5] [6] [7] Harej (diskusia) 20:49, 17. október 2022 (UTC)[odpovedať]
@Harej: Looks good, just the dátum archivácie=11. máj 2011 snippet in [8] causes that red error message there due to unsupported date format. Should be passed as ISO yyyy-mm-dd (2011-05-11, preferably) or local Slovak dd.mm.yyyy format (11.5.2011). Also the {{cite news}} ({{cite journal}}) and {{cite book}} will need archive-url/archive-date mappings [9] (I'll add them). --Teslaton (diskusia) 21:00, 17. október 2022 (UTC)[odpovedať]
Thank you for your help so far, Teslaton! As for the dates, I have updated the configuration and it seems to work now. How does this look? Harej (diskusia) 23:50, 17. október 2022 (UTC)[odpovedať]
