Deje sa tak pomerne často, tu predovšetkým z češtiny, na čo teraz existuje aj osobitný nástroj, ktorý takýto preklad uľahčuje. V každom prípade je dôležité použiť v akomkoľvek preklade z iného jazyka šablónu {{Preklad}} a tým odkázať na pôvodný článok a priznať podiel na autorstvo jeho tvorcom. --Blahma (diskusia) 01:32, 12. január 2014 (UTC)

Prihlásení používatelia si rozšírenia môžu vyskúšať kliknutím na odkaz beta vedľa používateľského nastavenia.

Vyskúšala som Prehliadač médií, je v pohode. Obrázky si prehliadam pohodlne cez celú stránku, vo väčšej veľkosti ako s použití náhľadu. Vyskúšajte. Na stránke mw:Multimedia/Media Viewer sa uvádza, že táto verzia je v0.1, je stále vo vývoji, vychytávajú sa chyby. Novšiu verziu v0.2 si môžete vyskúšať na tejto demo stránke, nezabudnite si povoliť Media Viewer v nastaveniach. Podpora populárneho neslobodného formátu MP4 na Commons

Dávam do pozornosti žiadosť o komentár na Commons ohľadom povolenia používania video-formátu MP4. Tento formát je momentálne široko používaný a podporovaný tak softvérom ako aj hardvérom (a mobilnými zariadeniami, ktorých používanie v súčasnosti rastie). Na druhej strane je však patentovo chránený (niektoré patenty, zdá sa, stratia platnosť až v 2028), čo môže priniesť nepríjemné situácie v budúcnosti a ohroziť slobodou preberania obsahu z Commons. Photos taken of members of the European Parliament

From Monday 3 February to Thursday 6 February a group of about 50 Wikimedians were present in the European Parliament in Strasbourg to take photos of members of the European Parliament. From about half of all members (766) of the parliament there have been photos taken during these days. Still a lot of them have to be uploaded to Commons. Also from members from Slovakia photos have been taken. A part from the pictures already have been added to articles on the various language Wikipedias, but many not. Please help us with that. If you add a photo in one language, it would be recommended to add the photo also to the articles in other languages.

The category with photos can be found on Commons here and includes also the other photos that have been taken by the group members during the project in Strasbourg.

On all the photos there is a special template to mark this project and gives more information about it. We would like to have this template translated into at least all the 24 official languages of the European Union and if possible also in other languages spoken in the EU. Can anyone translate this template from English (or German/French) to Slovak?

In the past weeks on several Wikipedias users started a project to write all missing articles at least from the country a language is mostly spoken in, but certainly also from all other countries of the European Union. All members of the European Parliament have an article on at least one language version of Wikipedia, but on a lot of language versions their articles are missing and still need to be written. This writing project currently happens on for example the Dutch Wikipedia.

The project page for having been at the European Parliament is at Commons at Commons:Wikipedians in European Parliament. The project is part of a larger project to take photos from members of national and regional parliaments. In the past years Wiki loves parliaments was for example active in the state parliaments in Germany. Which parliament shall be next?

Changes to the default site typography coming soon

This week, the typography on Wikimedia sites will be updated for all readers and editors who use the default "Vector" skin. This change will involve new serif fonts for some headings, small tweaks to body content fonts, text size, text color, and spacing between elements. The schedule is:

• April 1st: non-Wikipedia projects will see this change live
• April 3rd: Wikipedias will see this change live

This change is very similar to the "Typography Update" Beta Feature that has been available on Wikimedia projects since November 2013. After several rounds of testing and with feedback from the community, this Beta Feature will be disabled and successful aspects enabled in the default site appearance. Users who are logged in may still choose to use another skin, or alter their personal CSS, if they prefer a different appearance. Local common CSS styles will also apply as normal, for issues with local styles and scripts that impact all users.

As you may know, we have been developing Media Viewer, a new tool for browsing multimedia content on Wikimedia sites. This tool has been tested extensively since November, as a beta feature. The Multimedia team is now ready to enable Media Viewer as the default experience for viewing images, and would like to release it here on Thursday, 24 April. If you have not tried Media Viewer yet, we encourage you to do so and to give us feedback, before we release it more widely.

Can you help prepare for a smooth release of Media Viewer in your community?

• We invite you to create a local page for Media Viewer, and copy over some of its demonstration galleries, and also to invite community members to try out the tool and share their feedback on that local discussion page.

No one needs free knowledge in Esperanto

There is a current discussion on German Wikipedia on a decision of Asaf Bartov, Head of WMF Grants and Global South Partnerships, Wikimedia Foundation, who rejected a request for funding a proposal from wikipedians from eowiki one year ago with the explanation the existence, cultivation, and growth of the Esperanto Wikipedia does not advance our educational mission. Using only UploadWizard for uploads

Hello! It was noted that on this wiki you have less than 10 local files. Presumably, you therefore don't have interest nor energies to have hundreds templates with the now required HTML, even less a local EDP. However, this means that users here will experience a mostly broken and/or illegal uploading. I propose to

• have local upload restricted to the "Správcovia" group (for emergency uploads) and
• the sidebar point to commons:Special:UploadWizard,

so that you can avoid local maintenance and all users can have a functioning, easy upload interface in their own language. All registered users can upload on Commons and existing files will not be affected.

I'll get this done in one week from now.

1. If you disagree with the proposal, just remove your wiki from the list.
2. To make the UploadWizard even better, please tell your experience and ideas on commons:Commons:Upload Wizard feedback.

I wanted to let you know that Media Viewer will be released to this wiki in the coming weeks. Media Viewer allows readers of Wikimedia projects to have an enhanced view of files without having to visit the file page, but with more detail than a thumbnail. You can try Media Viewer out now by turning it on in your Beta Features. If you do not enjoy Media Viewer or if it interferes with your work after it is turned on you will be able to disable Media Viewer as well in your preferences. I invite you to share what you think about Media Viewer and how it can be made better in the future.

Industriada 2014 is main annual event promoting Industrial Monuments Route of the Silesian Voivodeship, the biggest one-day festival of industrial culture in Central and Eastern Europe. We want to make photo documentation of this event so we want to invite you to Katowice :). It's is also good opportunity to write articles in your Wikipedia about industrial heritage of Silesian Voivodeship.

Wikimedia Polska is covering costs of accomodation and your travel costs up to 500 PLN (120 EUR).

Media Viewer is now live on this wiki

The Wikimedia Foundation's Multimedia team is happy to announce that Media Viewer was just released on this site today.

Media Viewer displays images in larger size when you click on their thumbnails, to provide a better viewing experience. Users can now view images faster and more clearly, without having to jump to separate pages — and its user interface is more intuitive, offering easy access to full-resolution images and information, with links to the file repository for editing. The tool has been tested extensively across all Wikimedia wikis over the past six months as a Beta Feature and has been released to the largest Wikipedias, all language Wikisources, and the English Wikivoyage already.

If you do not like this feature, you can easily turn it off by clicking on "Disable Media Viewer" at the bottom of the screen, pulling up the information panel (or in your your preferences) whether you have an account or not. Learn more in this Media Viewer Help page.

Wikimania 2014 Informácie

Vazená komunita,

dovolujem si Vás informovat o mojej ucasti na výrocnej, 10. konferencii Wikimania v Londýne. Zároven poprosím ospravedlnit text bez interpunkcie, nakolko mám so sebou iba notebook so zahranicnou klávesnicou. Vcera sa uskutocnilo slávnostné otvorenie s radou príhovorov funkcionárov nadácie ako Jimmy Wales a Lila Tretikov. Ako spestrenie programu vystúpil medzinárodný gerálny riaditel organizácie Amnesty International Salil Shetty, ktorý zvýraznil dolezitost svojej organizácie a poziadal komunitu okolo nadácie Wikimedia o podporu jej projektov. Jimmy Wales ako zvycajne prejavil obdiv nad obrovskou ucastou na Wikimanii. V tomto roku sa zucastnilo viac ako 2000 osob. Lila Tretikov vo svojom prihovore vyzdvihla rozmanitost komunity, jej clenov a ich projekty a prejavila im svoju podporu. Dnes zacal oficiálny program s prednáskami. Jazykové prednasky

Prvá prednáska, na ktorej som sa zucastnil sa volá Fixing grammar errors semi-automatically. V krátkosti bol predstavený open source projekt na webovej stránke languagetool.org, ktorý si dal za úlohu zautomatizovat kontrolu gramatiky v editorcoh wikiprojektov. Medzi inými ca 40 jazykmi podporuje aj slovencinu. Slovencina má zatial iba základnú technickú podporu. V celom projekte momentálne pracuje 10 ludí a na prednáske jeho autori poziadali pouzívatelov mensích jazykových mutácií o podporu.

V druhej casti prednásky boli predstavené rozne beta nástroje, ktoré pouzivatelom pomozu pri poloautomatických prekladoch z jednej jazykovej mutácie do inej jazykovej mutácie. Medzi inými ide o translation memory (TM) teda jazykové pamät a moznost importovovat do nových prekladatelských nástrojov zdroje ako otorené jazykové pamäte, slovníky a pod.

Wikiúdaje a big data

Wikiúdaje: Dalsia z prednások, na ktorej som sa zucastnil, bola venovaná témam projektu Wikiúdaje a Big data (teda spracovaniu, vyuzitia velkého mnozstva údajov). Projekt Wikiúdaje stojí viac menej v svojich zaciatkoch a potrebuje podporu viacerých pouzívatelov. V podstate sa jedná o zaradovania unikátnich dát do databázy, tak aby mohli byt zoradené vo vzájomných reláciách. Tak napríklad je mozné zobrazenie urcitých dát hlavne z oblasti geografie akými sú budovy rovnakého typu, cintoríny, urcité hroby na cintorínoch, majáky na pobrezí na mapách. Taktiez je mozné grafické zobrazenie vzájomných vztahov státov s neziskovými organizáciami a vztahy týchto neziskových organizácií s dalsími státmi. Big data: Spracovanie velkého mnoztva dát je disciplína, ktorá má mnozstvo úloh. Mnozstvo dát mozme prirovnat k jednej fotografii a jej protikladu sérií fotografií. Pokial ulozíme sériu rovnakých fotografií do radu a rýchlo ich prelistujeme vznikne film, vznikne pohyb. Takisto je to s pouzívaním velkého mnozstva dát. Dalsím príkladom je automatické prekladanie. Predtým ako vznikol najznámejsí mechanický prekladatelský nástroj Google Translate mechanické prekladanie nefungovalo skoro vobec. Automatické mechanické prekladanie umoznilo az mnozstvo dát, teda celkové mnozstvo textov na internete, ktoré Google Translate pri mechanických prekladoch vyhodnocuje. Spracovanie Big Data je ako dietatko o ktoré sa musíme starat. Mudím dbat na to aby bolo zdravé, dávat mu správne lieky, aby sa nenakazilo infekciou.

Histopedia

Na poslednej z prednasok bola prestavena funkcionalita externeho programu Histopedia. Tento umoznuje zobrazit obsah Wikipedie v casovom harmonograme. Casovy harmonogram je mozne obmedzit napr. geograficky do urciteho okruhu. V casovom harmonograme sa daju taktiez zobrazit osoby ako napr. kralovske dynastie v roznom spektre, napr len panovníci, panovníci a ich rodiny, panovnícke rodiny a ich vztahy. Dávam do pozornosti prekladatelský projekt translatewiki.net na ktorom je mozné vykonávat preklady WikiMedia softvéru na ktorom bezia projekty Wikimedia. Letter petitioning WMF to reverse recent decisions

The Wikimedia Foundation recently created a new feature, "superprotect" status. The purpose is to prevent pages from being edited by elected administrators -- but permitting WMF staff to edit them. It has been put to use in only one case: to protect the deployment of the Media Viewer software on German Wikipedia, in defiance of a clear decision of that community to disable the feature by default, unless users decide to enable it.

If you oppose these actions, please add your name to this letter. If you know non-Wikimedians who support our vision for the free sharing of knowledge, and would like to add their names to the list, please ask them to sign an identical version of the letter on change.org.

Change in renaming process

Part or all of this message may be in English. Please help translate if possible.

Single-user login (SUL) finalisation's goal is so that every Wikimedia editor has a single, recognized global account with one username across all projects. As you may know, after a long delay, it's now underway as an effort between bureaucrats, stewards, and Wikimedia Foundation engineers. This will also allow for development of cross-wiki tools like global notifications and watchlists. There is no set date for the completion of single-user login finalization at this time.

The process involves changing all rename processes into one global renaming process. The ability for local bureaucrats to rename users on this wiki will be turned off on Monday, 15 September 2014, as one of the first steps. Global renamers are in the process of being created to make sure projects and languages are represented by the time this occurs. I sent a note to every bureaucrat about this process three weeks ago with an invitation to participate and many have begun requesting to be a part of the group. Together with the stewards, the global renamers will be empowered to help editors work through the often difficult process of getting a global name.

In parting, visit Special:MergeAccount to unify your account if you have never done so. If your local pages about renaming still need to be updated, please do so and consider pointing people to m:SRUC for future rename requests, especially if this project does not have bureaucrats that hold global renamer permissions. Včerajšou polnocou oficiálne skončil ďalší ročník fotosúťaže Wiki miluje pamiatky organizovaný Wikimediou SK. Ďakujeme všetkým súťažiacim za pekných 1700 fotiek a za pomoc pri slobodnej dokumentácii kultúrneho dedičstva! Fotky si môžte pozrieť v kategórii na Commons.

Súťažechtiví ale nemusia zalamovať rukami - ešte niečo málo vyše mesiaca bude prebiehať súťaž v písaní článkov na finančné témy Deň finančenje gramotnosti na Wikipédii na ktorú vás pozývam!

Nazdar, jedna vec k tým uploadom zo súťaže - dávate súťažiacim nejaké inštrukcie ohľadom geotagovania lokalít (teda info, že je vhodné to robiť a prípadne príklad, ako to má vyzerať)? Ako totiž zbežne pozerám, takmer žiadna z nich lokalitu cez {{Location}} otagovanú nemá. Mrzí ma to tým viac, že som svojho času špeciálne na tento účel riešil tool, vrátane slovenskej lokalizácie... Súťažiacimi zistené a vyplnené súradnice by sa následne dali použiť aj priamo v zoznamoch, v momente keď sa tam dopĺňa súťažná fotka. --Teslaton (diskusia) 17:08, 2. október 2014 (UTC)

Vďaka za dobrú radu! Doteraz sme to neriešili (ukázalo sa, že aj vyplnenie dátumu vie byť niekedy oriešok...) ale v budúcnosti sa na to určite pozrieme bližšie pri podobnej, prípadne tejto istej fotosúťaži!

Monument to Wikipedia in Slubice

Hi there and sorry for not speaking your language, but we need your help. On October 22, 2014, at 6:00 p.m., at the Plac Frankfurcki (Frankfurt Square) in Słubice the Wikipedia Monument will be unveiled. It was neither created nor supported by the wiki community, but it's a nice gesture nevertheless. We would like to express our thanks to the originators of the Monument, i.e. the employees of Collegium Polonicum in Słubice and the Mayor of the town, by preparing a commemorative book.

The book will include short thank you notes from Wikipedians all around the world. We are gathering the notes at Polish wiki. If you wish to add your own thank you note (preferably in your own language) to the book - PLEASE DO SO HERE. Deadline is October 18 (Saturday), 23:59 CET. Meta RfCs on two new global groups

Hello all,

There are currently requests for comment open on meta to create two new global groups. The first is a group for members of the OTRS permissions queue, which would grant them autopatrolled rights on all wikis except those who opt-out. That proposal can be found at m:Requests for comment/Creation of a global OTRS-permissions user group. The second is a group for Wikimedia Commons admins and OTRS agents to view deleted file pages through the 'viewdeletedfile' right on all wikis except those who opt-out. The second proposal can be found at m:Requests for comment/Global file deletion review.

We would like to hear what you think on both proposals. Both are in English; if you wanted to translate them into your native language that would also be appreciated.

It is possible for individual projects to opt-out, so that users in those groups do not have any additional rights on those projects. To do this please start a local discussion, and if there is consensus you can request to opt-out of either or both at m:Stewards' noticeboard.

Global AbuseFilter

Hello,

AbuseFilter is a MediaWiki extension used to detect likely abusive behavior patterns, like pattern vandalism and spam. In 2013, Global AbuseFilters were enabled on a limited set of wikis including Meta-Wiki, MediaWiki.org, Wikispecies and (in early 2014) all the "small wikis". Recently, global abuse filters were enabled on "medium sized wikis" as well. These filters are currently managed by stewards on Meta-Wiki and have shown to be very effective in preventing mass spam attacks across Wikimedia projects. However, there is currently no policy on how the global AbuseFilters will be managed although there are proposals. There is an ongoing request for comment on policy governing the use of the global AbuseFilters. In the meantime, specific wikis can opt out of using the global AbuseFilter. These wikis can simply add a request to this list on Meta-Wiki. More details can be found on this page at Meta-Wiki. If you have any questions, feel free to ask on m:Talk:Global AbuseFilter.

Víťazi Dňa finančnej gramotnosti

Práve boli zverejnení víťazi súťaže Deň finančnej gramotnosti s Wikipédiou. Ako hlavný organizátor za Wikimediu SK gratulujem víťazom a ďakujem všetkým účastníkom za pomoc pri tvorbe najväčšej slobodnej slovenskej encyklopédie a podpore finančnej gramotnosti. Okrem iného mala táto práca aj jasne viditeľný konkrétny výsledok v podobe použitia Wikipédie na doplnenie (aj úplné vysvetlenie) pojmov v Slovníku finančnej gramotnosti. --KuboF (diskusia) 15:21, 16. december 2014 (UTC)
